Tyler Dailey and Erin Moses Named Student-Athletes of the Week

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri junior Tyler Dailey and senior Erin Moses were named this week's Lathrop & Gage Varsity M Student-Athletes of the Week for their exceptional contributions to their respective athletic teams, combined with their strengths in the classroom and time spent in the local community.

A native of Joplin, Mo., Dailey is a member of the men's track and field team. A biology major, he carries a 3.81 grade-point-average. At the recent Seventh Annual Missouri Relays, Daily qualified for NCAA Regionals in the shot put after he finished in fifth place with a throw of 55-9 ¾. This marks the third time in his career Dailey has qualified for an NCAA Regional. During the 2006 indoor season, he earned his first All-Big 12 Conference honor with a fifth place finish in the weight throw at the conference championship. As a redshirt freshman in 2005, Dailey placed 21st and 22nd in the shot put and weight throw, respectively, at regionals and was named a United States Track Coaches Association All-Academic award winner.

Moses, a biological science major, is a member of the women's track and field team at Mizzou. The Humble, Texas, native carries a 3.94 grade-point-average and is the niece of two-time Olympic gold medalist and world champion Edwin Moses. This season, Moses earned first place honors in the 400-meter dash at the Mizzou All-Comers Meet and took home second in the 400-meter hurdles at the Arizona State Invitational.

Dailey, Moses and the rest of the Missouri track and field team travel to Los Angeles, Calif., this weekend for UCLA's Rafer Johnson / Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational from Thursday, April 6 to Saturday, April 8.
