COLUMBIA, Mo. - With nothing standing between them and the upcoming Big 12 Championships, the Missouri women's swimming and diving team (6-2-1, 2-2-1 Big 12) finds itself standing at No. 25 in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association (CSCAA) poll.
"Our women have worked really hard to get back in the rankings since early in the season," Mizzou head coach Brian Hoffer said. "The fact that we're ranked heading into the conference meet is a great thing for our program. It's a really exciting time for us."
The Tigers moved into the polls this week on the strength of a six-dual winning streak that hasn't seen them lose in 2006. The squad has claimed victories over Missouri State, Iowa, Illinois, Drury and Nebraska during that run.
The Mizzou women will be in action again from Feb. 22-25, when the Tigers host the Big 12 Championships for the first time in school history.
