Game Notes
Missouri's win snapped a five game losing streak that dated back to Jan. 26 (at Colorado) and handed Oklahoma its third straight loss.
The Tigers win in overtime marked the second consecutive game where MU was able to pull ahead and knock off OU in an OT game and second win of the season over a ranked opponent.
At halftime the Sooners led the Tigers by a score of 37-26.
Heading into overtime, Missouri and Oklahoma were tied at 59.
Today's game was the first overtime game for either team this season and second consecutive between the two teams.
Oklahoma was first to score in overtime after Drew Lavendar connected on a free throw.
Missouri Team Notes
This is the first game of the 2004-05 season and the first time in 79 games that Missouri junior guard Jimmy McKinney did not start.
Today's game marked Missouri's eighth different starting lineup of the season as Jason Conley, Thomas Gardner, Jason Horton, Kevin Young and Linas Kleiza took the court.
Entering the second half down by 11 points, Missouri went on a 19-5 run starting at 19:01. During the 9:55 run, the Tigers regained their second lead of the game at 9:06 after a Thomas Gardner's layup .
Missouri as a team shot 41 percent from the floor in the first half, improving to 52 percent in the second half and 75 percent in overtime.
The Tigers came from behind for the second time of the game to tie at 59 points with 55 seconds remaining on the clock.
Missouri Player Notes Linas Kleiza was the first player of the game to reach double figures in scoring midway through the first half.
With 32 seconds remaining in the first half sophomore guard Thomas Gardner connected from long range to register the teams first three point basket.
Jason Conley tied his career high mark of seven assists in a game, last set Feb. 15, 2004 against UNLV, while Jason Horton shattered his previous career high mark of eight after tallying 10 in today's game.
Thomas Gardner connected on back-to-back three pointers in overtime tying his career-high mark of four three pointers in a game.
Linas Kleiza recorded his sixth double-double of the season and was the only player of the game to record a double-double with his 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Oklahoma Team Notes
Beginning at 14:52 to go in the first half OU began a 25-8 run over the next 11 minutes.
The Sooners connected on 52 percent of their shots in the first half.
Oklahoma Player Notes
Taj Gray became the first OU player to score in double figures with two free throws toward the end of the first half.
Big 12 Conference leader Taj Gray tied his career high record of four blocks in a single game this afternoon. This is the sixth time of the season that Gray reached four.
