Today's game marked the 20th all-time meeting between Mizzou and

Mizzou is now 2-8 all-time in Big 12 Conference openers, however the League schedule-makers have been rather harsh on the Tigers. Starting in 1996 when MU opened Big 12 play at No. 8 Texas, Mizzou has faced top-10 foes six times in Conference kick-offs, including a pair of games against No. 1 Nebraska (2000 and 2001), a game vs. the No. 6 Cornhuskers (1999) a game at No. 3 Oklahoma (2002) and today's game vs. No. 2 Texas.
Mizzou's first quarter touchdown was the first TD scored against the Longhorns in the opening period this season. Overall, the Tigers scored 13 first-quarter points. Coming into the game,
Mizzou's ground attack churned out 139 yards on 47 carries. Those 139 rushing yards were the most against the Longhorns this season. The previous best rushing output vs. UT was 111 yards by then-No. 4
The Tigers also accumulated 330 yards of total offense, which was the most vs. the Longhorns this season. The previous high was 255 by then-No. 4
The Tigers continue to be one of the nation's most efficient teams inside the redzone. MU is now 18-for-18 in redzone opportunities this year, and went a perfect 3-for-3 today, with three touchdowns scored.
Brad Smith continued to add to his spectacular career statistical numbers. The senior signal caller added two more rushing touchdowns on the day, giving him 36 for his career. Third all-time at Mizzou, Smith trails just Corby Jones (38) and Zack Abron on the school's all-time TD list.
Smith's 12 points (two TD's) pushed him into fourth on Mizzou's all-time scoring list. Smith now has 224 career points and passed Bob Steuber (1940-42) who accumulated 222 points during his three seasons in
With his 238 yards of total offense today, Smith moved into 23rd on the NCAA's all-time total offense list. Smith entered the contest 30th all-time but jumped ahead of current New York Jets QB Chad Pennington, who racked up 10,758 yards during his career at
Smith now has 3,384 career rushing yards, which ranks seventh all-time on the NCAA charts among quarterbacks. Next on the list for Smith is former Navy standout Chris McCoy who ran for 3,401 yards from 1995-97.
Smith also made an impact catching the football, making a three-yard grab off of a pass from freshman QB Chase Daniel in the first quarter.
