Mizzou Women's Golf Tied for Third at Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wis. - - The Mizzou Women's Golf team is in a tie for third place after the first day of the season opening Badger Invitational in Madison, Wis. Missouri shot a 292 in Sunday's morning round followed by a 307 in the afternoon round.

Three Tigers are in the top 10 individually led by sophomore Madde Augustsson, who opened with a three-under par in the first round, before shooting a 77 in round two. Her two-round total of 146 is tied for fourth, one stroke out of third place and six strokes behind the tournament leader, Onnarin Sattayabanphot of Purdue.

Senior Denise Munzlinger (73-77=150) and junior Stephanie Wavro (76-74=150) are among four players tied for ninth place after the first two rounds.

"It's always fun to see how we come out and play in the first round of the year," Head Coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said. "I was happy with our play. We got off to a good start with a great round in the morning. It was an endurance test with playing 36 holes and now we have to get ready for tomorrow."

Senior Kelli Strubinger (74-79=153), whose round included a stretch of four-straight birdies, is tied for 27th place and junior Lyndsey Adams (77-83=160) is in a tie for 50-th after Sunday's two rounds. Freshman Chelsea Schriewer, who is competing as an individual in the tournament, shot an 89 in round one and a 74 in the second round placing her in a tie for 58th.

The tournament will conclude tomorrow with the final 18 holes to start at 8 a.m.
