Douglas Completes Mizzou Men's Basketball Recruiting Class

May 20, 2005

Columbia, MO - University of Missouri Head Basketball Coach Quin Snyder announced on Friday that James Douglas has signed a letter of intent to join the Tiger squad next season. The signing of Douglas wraps up the Tigers 2005 recruiting class.

"James is a very good basketball player and a quality individual. He will add depth at both guard positions for us," Snyder said. "He is a versatile player and his ball handling, playmaking and defense will be welcome additions to our rotation."

Douglas, a 6-3, 190 lb. guard from Detroit, MI, played last season at Schoolcraft Community College in Detroit where he shot 40 percent from three point land. In high school, Douglas was one of the premier recruits to come out of the state of Michigan in 2002. A four-year starter at Harper Woods Notre Dame High School, Douglas was named the MVP of the Metro Conference in both his junior and senior seasons. He averaged 25.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 4.0 steals per game his senior season under head coach Loren Ristovski.

Douglas chose Mizzou over Illinois, Arkansas and Maryland. For more information on Mizzou Tiger Basketball, log on to www.mutigers.com.
