Oklahoma City, Okla. -- The 18th-ranked Missouri softball team scored four runs against fourth-seeded Baylor in game 14 of the Big 12 softball tournament before being postponed due to heavy rain and lightning. The second post-season meeting of the campaign between the two teams will pick up tomorrow at 10 a.m. (CT) at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Leading off for the Tigers, sophomore centerfielder Leanne Bowers (Arnold, Mo.) sent a fly ball to left field to bring up freshman designated played Jen Bruck (St. Peters, Mo.) who drew a walk off the right handed pitcher Lisa Ferguson. Next up for Missouri, redshirt freshman Micaela Minner (Sanger, Texas) reached first on an error and freshman Amanda Renth (Mascoutah, Ill.) walked to load the bases for junior outfielder Janessa Roening (Port Angeles, Wash.). Hitless through two games, Roening's bat warmed as she doubled to center field and advanced Bruck and Minner home. Senior Heather Kunkel (Oak Forest, Ill.), who hit a grand slam in the Tigers' first game of the day, punched a single to right field and advanced to second on the throw sending Renth and Roening home.
The game, which started at 8:25 was called with one out on the board and will resume tomorrow, May 14, at 10 a.m. (CT).
