Columbia, Mo. -- The #58 Missouri tennis team concluded its regular season with a 14-8 overall record and a 4-7 Big 12 Conference record after falling to the #10 Texas Longhorns, 7-0.

The Tigers started the doubles competition well, picking up early wins in several of the matches. The Longhorns made competition tough however coming back to take two of the contests to clinch the doubles point. The senior tandem of Katka Sevcikova and Carolyn Kramer picked up the Tiger's only doubles victory with a Senior Day besting the #31 ranked Katie Ruckert and Kendra Strohm, 9-7.

In singles competition, Missouri found itself needed to take four matches to pull off an upset over the Longhorns. Playing at No. 1, #89 Sevcikova gave #58 Petra Dizdar all she could handle. Sevcikova and Dizdar battled back and forth in the first set with Dizdar winning 7-5. In the second set Sevcikova began the set down but rallied to tie at 5-5 before taking the round 7-6 with the tiebreaker in the fourth. Despite a valiant effort however, Sevcikova's rally fell short of victory as Dizdar took the third set 6-2, and the match 7-5, 6-7 (4), 6-2.

The Tigers hit the court in postseason action when they travel to Austin, Texas next week to compete in the 2005 Big 12 Championship April 28-May1.
