Columbia, Mo.- The Missouri Tiger tennis team returns home to host weekend matches against Murray State and Iowa State. The Tigers square off against Murray State on Fri., Feb. 18 at 6:00 p.m., and face Big 12 Conference foe Iowa State on Sun., Feb. 20 at 11:00 a.m.
Gearing up for the weekend, Mizzou looks to get back on track after dropping its first Big 12 Conference match to #52 Nebraska. Despite the loss, senior Katka Sevcikova shined for the Tigers upsetting Nebraska's #19 Gitte Ostermann 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 1 singles match.
Newcomers Carolyn Kramer and Charlotte Bellis continue to bolster the team adding depth to the Tiger roster. Kramer owns a 3-2 singles record that includes a win over Minnesota's Mariana Bugatenco securing the Tiger victory. Freshman Charlotte Bellis has been equally impressive logging a 4-1 singles record with key wins against Dartmouth and Minnesota.
Mizzou continues its home stand next weekend welcoming Big 12 Conference rival Colorado. The Tigers face the Buffaloes on Sat., Feb. 26 at 2:00 p.m. All Missouri tennis matches are held in Mizzou's Green Tennis Center and are open to the public.
