Mizzou Soccer Cleans Up Columbia

Jan. 31, 2005

Columbia, Mo. - Taking an active role in the Columbia community, the Mizzou Tiger soccer team took a turn participating in the Mizzou Athletic Department Adopt-a-Spot program this month.

Partnering with the City of Columbia in April of 2001, the Missouri Athletic Department pledged to keep Ninth Street from Broadway to Elm Street free of trash and litter. Armed with protective gloves and trash bags, each month various athletes and members of the Mizzou staff take turns cleaning the Tiger's section of the District.

Taking responsibility for Mizzou's January Adopt-a-Spot, ten members of the Mizzou soccer team donned orange safety vests and hit the streets to help keep Columbia beautiful.
