There are six parking garages: Maryland Ave. Garage (located on the corner of Hospital Dr. and Maryland Ave.), Conley Ave. Garage (6th and Conley Ave.), University Ave. Garage (University Ave. and College Ave.), Turner Ave. Garage (Turner Ave. and Maryland Ave.), Hitt Street Garage (9th and Elm St.) and Virginia Ave. Garage (Virginia Ave and Hospital Dr.). General public street parking will also be available in and around campus.
Ranked as high as 11th in the nation, the Missouri wrestling team (13-2), led by Head Coach Brian Smith, will open its Big 12 Conference schedule Saturday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m., (CT) against sixth-ranked Nebraska (15-1-1) in the Hearnes Center. The dual will be broadcast live on Takedown Radio (www.takedownradio.com) with Steve Foster and 2004 Missouri NCAA All-American Kenny Burleson calling the action. Live results will also be posted on the Missouri athletic website.
This is the first Conference dual of the 2004-05 season for either team, although several Missouri and Nebraska wrestlers have met earlier in the campaign at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, Dec. 3-4.
The Tigers enter the dual down 15-34 in the all-time series with the Cornhuskers. The two teams have also ended in a tie, three times throughout the 79-year-old rivalry. In the last paring in Lincoln, Neb., the Cornhuskers pulled ahead early for the eventual 23-13 win.
Missouri's last victory over Nebraska came at home on Jan. 31, 2003. Eventual All-Americans Jeremy Spates, Kenny Burleson and Tyron Woodley all helped build up the Tigers' nine point spread in front of a then record setting 1,145 fans.
Missouri will look to extend its home win streak to 13 matches. The Tigers' home win streak dates back to the 2002-03 campaign when MU handed Tennessee Chattanooga a 40-12 loss.
Looking to extend his own win streak, sophomore Ben Askren (25-0) will take to the mat as the No. 1/No. 2 ranked wrestler at 174 pounds. Seven other Tigers, Chris McCormick (141), Cody Greene (149), Brad Cieleski (157), Woodley (165), Matt Pell (184) and Jeff Foust (197) are also ranked among the top 20 in the nation at their respective weight class. The Big 12 dual will be a first ever for several Missouri starters including Tim Kephart (125), Tyler McCormick (133) Greene (149), Cieleski (157) and Chase Wetenkamp (HWT).
