Dombart and Miller Earn Student-Athlete Honors

Columbia, Mo. -Missouri seniors Rachael Dombart (gymnastics) and Neville Miller (track) were named this week's Lathrop & Gage student-athletes of the week. Both honorees hold above a 3.0 grade-point average, excel in their respective sport and commit time to their local community.

Competing in the Tigers' Pink Out against Centenary last Friday night, Dombart showed off exhibition routines on each of the four women's gymnastics events. Dombart, a native of Woodstock, Ga., is an interdisciplinary studies major with a 3.29 grade-point average. Away from the gym and classroom, Dombart and her teammates were members of the Voluntary Action Center-Holiday Family Sponsor program, Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) canned food drive and Columbia School Program.

Miller, a native of St. Louis, is an atmospheric science major and holds a 3.63 grade-point average. A middle distance runner on the men's track team, Miller finished second in the 800-meter run (1:51.67) last Saturday while competing for the Tigers in an indoor triangular meet at Kansas State. An active member of the community, Miller is involved in the United Way Student Day of Change, SAAC Canned Food Drive and Ronald McDonald House and is the track and field teams' SAAC representative.

The women's gymnastics team will take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers Friday, Jan. 28, in the Hearnes Center, while the Missouri men's and women's track and field team will travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa for the Northern Iowa Invitational on Jan. 28.
