Columbia, Mo.- The 49th-ranked Tigers hit the courts at home after a grueling road schedule. Oklahoma State ranked as high as #38 last week, but dropped to #70 after two tough losses to Washington State and Boston College.
The Tigers started strong in doubles and took home the point. Urska Juric and Katka Sevcikova rebounded from road losses with an 8-5 win. Freshmen Yelena Olshanskaya and Erika Josbena won solidly at the #2 position. Hana Kraftova and Mary Barry brought the Tigers another win.
After winning the doubles point, Mizzou won 5 of the 6 singles matches. #64 Urska Juric fought hard to take down OSU's Katya Kolodynska in three sets. Hana Kraftova, Yelena Olshanskaya, and Mary Barry also went three sets to get wins against the Cowgirls.
"This was a nice bounce-back match for us," Missouri head coach Blake Starkey said. "We played well and got another win under our belt."
The Tigers face #34 Oklahoma tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. at the Green Tennis Center.
