Columbia, Mo.- The Tigers fought hard but couldn't come up with a win against the Sooners today in Columbia. This was the first conference win for the 8-1 Sooners. Mizzou had to play without #1 singles player Urska Juric. Juric played doubles, but sat singles out due to a knee injury.
Mizzou head coach Blake Starkey moved each player up one spot to make up for Juric being out of the lineup. Katka Sevcikova moved up to the #1 spot and played a tough match against 4th-ranked Anda Perianu. 76th-ranked Irina Lykina barely edged out Mizzou's Hana Kraftova at #3. Mary Barry gave the Tigers a singles win against Sooner Heather Saluri. Lucie Ruskova stepped into the singles lineup and also gave the Tigers a win at #6.
The Tigers face Iowa tomorrow at noon at the Green Tennis Center.
