Finishing their last dual in history-making fashion, the fourth-ranked Missouri wrestling team will travel to Warrensburg, Mo., on Thursday, Feb. 5, for a 7:30 p.m., dual against Central Missouri State, before taking on Eastern Illinois at home in Columbia at 1 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 8, in the Hearnes Center Arena.
With the all-time series record at 34-5, Missouri will travel to Warrensburg for what has become an annual pairing. The series dates back to the second coming of the Missouri wrestling program. Under the direction of then Head Coach Marshall Esteppe, the Tigers first met with the Mules in back-to-back duals during the 1963-64 season. Winning both (17-11, 16-10), Missouri dropped a 5-22 meet against CMSU the following season.
Making a possible return to the mat is junior Cody Greene at 149 pounds. Filling in for All-Star Classic winner Jeremy Spates, Greene is expected to lead the lineup in Missouri's Thursday night dual against CMSU, with Spates taking the helm Sunday afternoon. Rounding out the 10-man team for both duals should be Austin DeVoe (125), Paul Collum (133), J.P. Reese (141), Kenny Burleson (157), Tyron Woodley (165), Ben Askren (174), Matt Pell (184), Jeff Foust (197) and Mike Whitehead (HWT).
