Mizzou Volleyball Ranked No. 24 in Final Poll

Dec. 30, 2004

The Mizzou Volleyball team finished with a No. 24 ranking in the final USA Today/CSTV Top 25 Coaches' Poll. The Tigers ended the season with a 20-9 overall record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

It is the highest final ranking for Mizzou since it was ranked No. 20 at the end of the 2002 season.

The trip to the postseason was the fifth-consecutive for MU and it hosted First and Second Round matches of the tournament for the first time in school history. The Tigers' win over Arkansas in the opening round was the second postseason win in Missouri school history.

Stanford, who defeated Minnesota in the Championship match, took the top spot in the poll ahead of Minnesota. Washington, USC and Nebraska rounded out the top five. Other Big 12 teams in poll included Texas (No. 11), Texas A&M (No. 20) and Kansas State (No. 23).
