COLUMBIA, Mo. - A third Tennessee prep golf standout, Bud Reynolds (Knoxville, Tenn.), has signed a National Letter of Intent to enroll at the University of Missouri and play golf, Head Coach Mark Leroux announced today. Reynolds joins Peter Malnati (Dandridge, Tenn.) and Ryne Fisher (Clarksville, Tenn.), who signed NLI's in November, as part of Leroux's first recruiting class.
Reynolds' signing gives Leroux three of the top 100 golfers in the Golfweek/Titleist Junior Rankings. Malnati is ranked 50th, Fisher 71st and Reynolds 92nd.
"Bud has excellent mechanics, and has been really consistent the last two years," Leroux said. "I had a golf pro the other day pull me aside and tell me, 'Bud Reynolds is the best player in the state of Tennessee this year.' You could make that statement among any of the three guys we signed this year, so I'm very pleased about this recruiting class."
Reynolds was runner-up at last year's Tennessee Class AAA state high-school championship, and finished sixth this year. His best junior finish this summer came in the tournament prior to that, a fourth-place finish at the Bobby Chapman in early September.
