Moore and Kelly Earn Student-Athlete Honors

of the men's golf team have been named this week's Lathrop & Gage Student-Athletes of the Week. Both student-athletes excel in their respective field of play and in the classroom and contribute significantly to their local community.

A journalism major from Englewood, Colo., Moore holds a 3.26 grade-point average and has helped the Missouri soccer team to its sixth consecutive Big 12 tournament showing. During the course of the 2004 season, the midfielder played in all 19 of the Tigers games, scoring one of two Missouri goals in the win over Loyola-Chicago Sept. 19. Moore has helped with several Missouri youth soccer clinics and Truman Club Winter parties and also gave her time to the United Way Day of Caring Food Drive.

Kelly is a business major from St. Louis and balances a 3.44 grade point average with time on the links and in the community. On Oct. 24, Kelly shot a career low round of 68 at The Nelson (hosted at the Stanford Golf Club) marking his first round under par for his collegiate career. Away from golf and school, Kelly has given his time to the Central Missouri Food Pantry.

Seeded sixth entering the Big 12 Tournament, the Missouri soccer team will open action against No. 3 seed Colorado on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m., in San Antonio, Texas. The Tiger men's golf team will resume play Feb. 14, at the Matlock Invitational in Lakeland, Fla.
