With its 11-4 win in game four, the Black team clinched the win in Mizzou Baseball's Fall World Series. Black won games one two and four, dropping game three to the Gold squad.
Max Scherzer had two wins in the series for Black, including the win in the series clincher. He allowed seven runs on 10 hits in 12.0 innings in his two starts and added 12 strikeouts. Hunter Mense hit .588 in the series to lead both teams. He had two doubles and drove in three runs and was 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts. Stephen Spaugh had a home run and six RBI in the four games and Jeff Zelenovich had a homer and drove in five RBI.
Eric Dessau recorded the win in the Gold team's lone victory. Tyler Williams and Dan Pietroburgo each hit .500 for Gold in the series and John McKee hit Gold's only home run in the series.
Mizzou will open up the 2005 season in early February. The finalized schedule should be released soon.
