LEXINGTON, Ky. - Seniors Michael Radek (Chicago, Ill. / St. Ignatius HS) and David Jenkins (Springfield, Mo. / Glendale HS / SMS) both posted top-10 performances after the first day of the Johnny Owens Invitational, held Friday at the University Club of Kentucky.

As a team, Missouri is in fourth place after carding aggregate team rounds of 304 and 300. MU's 604 total is 25 strokes behind Eastern Kentucky, yet just a stroke behind third-place Iowa State. Host Kentucky is 10 strokes in front of the Tigers.

Radek carded a pair of 1-over-par 73s in Friday's first two rounds to stand alone in sixth place. Jenkins, who notched his fourth top-10 finish of the season earlier this week at the CU/Stevinson Ranch Invitational, is one of three players tied for seventh at 3-over 147. He closed a morning 76 with an afternoon 71 to join just six other golfers to break par all day.

Among Mizzou's other individuals, junior Justin Bliss (Chesterfield, Mo. / Lafayette HS) shot a pair of 78s and stands in a tie for 32nd; sophomore Ben Scott (Lancashire, U.K.) joins Bliss there after posting rounds of 77 and 79; and freshman John Kelly (St. Louis, Mo. / Christian Brothers College HS) is in a tie for 41st after shooting 79-78.

The 18-hole final round will be played Saturday.
