Houston, Texas - After three days of competition at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships in Houston, Texas, sophomores Evan Watters and Aaron Wionzek missed the NCAA Championships qualifying mark my just a few points.

To qualify for the National Championships, divers must have placed in the top-five spots overall. Watters missed qualifying by one position and Wionzek finished right behind Watters in seventh.

The Tigers highest finish of the weekend came when sophomore Evan Watters placed third on the platform on Sunday, the last day of competition. Sophomore Nicole Frazier led the women as she placed eighth on the platform.

"Last year the top six made it to Nationals and we missed that by one spot, this year they only took five and we missed by one spot again," said Head Diving Coach Greg Triefenbach. "It's frustrating that we keep getting better, but the margin keeps getting narrower every year. Today was a great day for diving though, our girls dove their best today and we did as good as we could. Overall we had a very successful year."
