Lindsey Hunter Invited to National Training Team Tryouts

March 12, 2004

Missouri sophomore setter Lindsey Hunter has been invited to tryout for a position on the 2004 Women's National Training Team. She will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. for tryouts on April 9-10.

As many as three setters will be selected to the training team. The team will train in Colorado Springs from May 18-28 at which time a team of about 10, including two setters will be selected to go to Atlanta to compete in the Women's Open Division of the U.S. National Championships. Those run from May 29-June 1.

"This is an exciting opportunity and a great honor for Lindsey," Missouri Head Coach Susan Kreklow said. "She has become one of our team leaders in only two seasons and is very deserving of the invitation. This will be a great chance for her to gain some valuable experience and I know that she will do well."

Hunter was All-Big 12 First Team and All-Central Region Honorable Mention last year. She led the Big 12 Conference in assists per game for the second straight season.

Hunter is third on the career assists lists at Missouri after only two seasons. In 2002, as a freshman, Hunter set a school record with 1,690 assists for the season.
