San Juan, PR. - The University of Missouri women's golf squad moved into 12th place at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Monday after shooting a second round 311. The Tigers were in 13th after yesterday's opening round at the par 72, 6,016-yard Dorado Del Mar Golf Course and have a cumulative score of 628 heading into tomorrow's final round.
"It's critical for us to continue to improve and put together a solid final round tomorrow," head coach Stephanie Cooper said. "We have played well at times during the past two games and have made some great shots. We need to capitalize and knock down some putts if we want to make run tomorrow."
Sophomore Denise Knaebel continues to the be the Tigers top individual performer, firing a second-round 75 and is in 24th with a total of 151, just four strokes out of the top 10 and six strokes out of the top five. Maria Ohlsson had a great second round on Monday as well, firing a 74 after shooting a 79 on Sunday. Ohlsson checks in 33rd place with a two-round total of 153, just six strokes out of the top 10 heading into the final round.
