Box Score

COLUMBIA, Mo. - In addition, Mizzou (16-8, 3-3 Big 12) has now won four in a row and has seen its overall winning streak over Kansas stretched to seven games.

Junior OF Ryan Rallo (Chesterfield, Mo.) and freshman SS Adam Garrett (Sikeston, Mo.) each went 2-for-3; Rallo had an RBI and two runs scored, while Garrett added a run. In addition, junior 1B Cody Ehlers (Stillwater, Okla.) was 1-for-4 with two RBI and a pair of runs.

Kansas wasted no time in getting on board, as the Jayhawks (20-9, 0-3) plated a pair in the first inning of Missouri RHP Derek Roper (Elk City, Okla.). Mizzou came back with a pair in the bottom of the fourth when junior C Brad Flanders (Smithville, Mo.) hit a two-out single to left to score Rallo. Freshman 3B Zane Taylor (Kirksville, Mo.) followed with another single to left to plate Ehlers.

Rallo gave the Tigers their first lead of the game in the fifth when he singled home senior CF Jayce Tingler (Smithville, Mo.) with two outs. All of Mizzou's seven runs were scored with two out.

Kansas tied the game in the seventh when Ryan Baty lined a sacrifice fly to center off junior Andy Shipman (Bellevue, Neb.), who came on in relief of Roper, to score Brandon Shepard. Shipman (3-2) allowed just a pair of hits from that point on, however, to earn his second win of the week.

Mizzou broke the game open in the seventh off KU starter Ryan Knippschild (5-2). With two out and the bases loaded, Ehlers roped a single into center that scored Garrett and Tingler. After Chris Smart came into the game, junior DH Lee Laskowski (Clayton, Mo.) singled to left to score Rallo. Flanders finished the scoring with an RBI single to left to score Ehlers.

"We were very good this weekend, but we were fortunate," said Head Coach Tim Jamieson. "We didn't play great today, but we had so many clutch hits. You talk about a momentum shift - it's a big help to your confidence to know that someone's going to pick you up."

Missouri now travels for a five-game road swing, beginning this Wednesday at Illinois State at 3 p.m. The Tigers' next Big 12 series comes this weekend in Manhattan, Kan., when Mizzou plays at Kansas State for a three-game set beginning Friday night.
