MU Tennis Hosts the Tiger Pro-Am This Weekend

Columbia, MO -- The University of Missouri's women's tennis team is hosting the Tiger Pro-Am this Sun., Nov. 16 at 1:00 p.m., at the Green Tennis Center.

The Mizzou women's tennis team is preparing for a fun-filled tournament with local celebrities and fans in the third annual Mizzou Tiger Tennis Pro-Am. Several well-known Columbians plan on attending the event such as former MU tennis star Courtney Wright, and Missouri Cotton Exchange owner Barb Glenn. Other participants include: Kiki Lovig, Leah Lennox, Rhoda Ponzer, Robin Jones and Lexie Payne.

The event is an opportunity for the MU tennis team to mingle with their featured guests and vice-versa. "We're going out of our way to get involved in our community and put our players in a position to meet people in Columbia's professional society," said Missouri tennis Head Coach Blake Starkey. "Our kids met a lot of new people today and everyone had a lot of fun. We will continue to run events like this."

The Pro-Am kicks off at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday and will feature games such as Rush-and-Crush, followed by three sets of tennis. The teams will consist of one celebrity and one Mizzou tennis player for a fierce partnership. Come out and join the festivities and show your support for Mizzou women's tennis.
