Missouri Head Coach Quin Snyder
On the team's play during the scrimmage:
"You never want to read too much into a 20 minute scrimmage after a few days of practice, but there were some things I was very pleased with. When we moved the ball real well with inside-out penetration, you can see we can click real well offensively as guys are unselfish."
"It's going to take some time for us to become the type of transition team I see us becoming. Running is a habit, and it's something we've got to keep working on. In this format without substitution, you don't get a chance to see the depth help you with that."
On participating in an exhibition scrimmage:
"The biggest thing in these games is sometimes as a player it's kind of a fun thing. They kind of go out and are just playing instead of really competing. When the black team really got back into the game and then won it, I thought that it was because they were really competing together."
On McKinney, Conley and Gardner combination working well:
"You see a lot of guys working well together. All three of those guys are good basketball players. They've got a really good feel for the game. They can make a jump shot; they can all put it on the floor; they can all pass. And when you're playing that way, and no one cares about who's scoring, then you can be hard to guard. I think the same is true for the gold team too. We've got a lot of different combination we can go with."
"People have to separate themselves. That's what it comes down to."
Missouri senior center Arthur Johnson
On the black team's win
"They played hard. We were up, and they kept fighting, made a good run, and beat us."
On the shooting ability of this team compared to his previous teams:
"We're loaded at the guard spot and everybody can contribute. I mean, I don't know. I haven't ever been in a gun fight with these guys like I was with them [Gilbert, Rush, Grawer]."
Missouri senior guard/forward Rickey Paulding
On being disappointed:
"I wasn't really frustrated. I just didn't like seeing us let up at times. As far as the gold team, we were up early and then the second half they came out and just out-played us."
Missouri sophomore guard Jimmy McKinney
On having fun playing:
"It was very fun today to jut get away from practice a little bit and try to get some game prep. I really appreciate today."
