STANFORD, Calif. - Mizzou seniors David Jenkins (Springfield, Mo. / Glendale HS / SMS) and Mike Radek (Chicago, Ill. / St. Ignatius) shot 69 and 70, respectively, and are among the first-round leaders at The Nelson, played Friday at the Stanford Golf Club. The tournament is an annual homecoming for MU Head Coach Tim Robyn, who was a two-time All-American for Stanford in the mid-1980's.

Jenkins is five strokes behind Toledo's Brad Heaven, who carded a 7-under-par 64 to lead by two strokes.

As a team, Mizzou is in 12th out of 15 teams following an aggregate score of 5-over 289. The Tigers trail Duke by 11 strokes, yet are just two strokes off the middle of the pack set by Texas Tech and Notre Dame. Colorado, Kansas and Texas Tech each trail Duke by a stroke.

Sophomore Ben Scott is tied for 45th after shooting a 2-over 73, freshman Beau Crawford is tied for 73rd following a 77, and sophomore Chris Mabry is in 80th place after carding a 79.

The Tigers resume competition with 18 holes on Saturday, followed by the final round on Sunday.
