Columbia, Mo. - The University of Missouri Department of Athletics has permanently dismissed senior guard Ricky Clemons from the men's basketball program, as announced today by Director of Athletics Mike Alden.

"This is the conclusion of a very unfortunate situation for a young man that we worked very hard with to give every opportunity to succeed," said Alden. "He had a chance to honor his commitment to our standards that we made very clear to him, but unfortunately for all parties involved, he did not do so," he said.

Clemons was a junior college transfer who joined the Tigers last season and averaged 14.2 points per game - third-best on the team - and led MU with 112 assists in 32 games.
