Junior Ricky Clemons Withdraws His Name from the NBA Draft

May 13, 2003

Columbia, Mo.- Over the weekend, University of Missouri guard Ricky Clemons had submitted his name for consideration in the upcoming NBA Draft. Upon further consideration and discussion with Coach Quin Snyder, Clemons has withdrawn his name from the Draft. Clemons did not sign with an agent during this process, therefore leaving his options open for a return to Mizzou.

"I explored the opportunities and possibilities of pursuing a professional career and I have reconsidered my decision to take part in the upcoming draft. I look forward to being at Missouri next year to continue my development both as a person and as a player," Clemons said.

Clemons averaged 14.2 points and a team-leading 3.7 assists per contest last season at Mizzou. He was an All-Big 12 honorable mention selection by both the Associated Press and Big 12 Coaches and was a two-time Phillips 66 Newcomer of the week.
