
Oklahoma Rallies Again To Down Missouri

NORMAN, Okla. - For the second-straight day, the University of Missouri baseball team saw Oklahoma rally to pick up a win in Big 12 Conference action at L.Dale Mitchell Park. After suffering a 10-9 loss in 12 innings on Friday, Missouri saw Oklahoma score two runs in the eighth inning to tie the game and plate one run in the ninth frame to pick up the 9-8 victory. OU got a leadoff walk by Jason Fransz to open the ninth inning off of Travis Wendte. Fransz stole second base before Matt Bose singled to right field. Fransz scored when the throw from Lee Laskowski was up the first base line to give OU the win.
Oklahoma used a pair of walks and a single to take a 1-0 lead after one inning before Missouri erupted for five runs in the second frame. After one out, Laskowski reached on an infield single and Ryan Rallo doubled to put runners at second and third base, respectively. A walk to Brent Lacy loaded the bases. Luke Cassis singled to right field to score Laskowski and tie the game. Jayce Tingler then lined a shot into the right field corner to clear the bases. Tingler scored when Felipe Tetelboin reached on an error.
The Sooners plated a pair of runs in the third inning to make it 5-3 and cut into Missouri's lead.
MU answered OU's outburst with three runs in the fourth. After one out, Tingler reached base with his third hit of the game. He moved to second base on a wild pitch before advancing to third base on an infield out. Jody Roughton walked before Cody Ehlers lined a single into right field to score Tingler. Mick Weiss then doubled to right-center to score Roughton and Ehlers to give Mizzou an 8-3 lead.
The Sooners scored one run in the fifth and added two more in the sixth inning. OU then plated two runs in the eighth inning to the contest, 8-8.
Tingler finished with three hits, the 12th three-hit game of his career, while Ehlers and Laskowski each had two hits for the Tigers.
Travis Wendte (0-1) suffered the loss while OU's Austin Mix (2-1) got the win.
Missouri, 6-6 overall and 0-2 in Big 12, concludes the series with Oklahoma (10-4, 0-2) Sunday at 1 p.m.
