
Missouri Miscues Lead To Texas' 6-3 Win

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Texas used another strong pitching performance and pitching up a 6-3 win over Missouri in Saturday's Big 12 Conference game at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field.
Justin Simmons scattered 10 hits in eight and one-third innings to pick up the win, his sixth of the season. Texas is now 19-6 overall and 4-4 in Big 12 play. Missouri is 7-10 and 0-5.
The Longhorns took advantage of three MU errors in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. UT used a pair of hits and another Tiger error to score two runs in the second inning and built its lead to 4-0.
The Tigers used a pair of singles to open the fourth inning before Felipe Tetelboin (So., Van Nuys, Calif.) drove in Lee Laskowski (So., Clayton, Mo.) on a groundout to cut the lead to 4-1.
Texas plated a run in the fifth inning and added another run in the eighth inning to take a 6-1 lead.
Missouri scored two runs in the ninth inning. Tetelboin singled before Ryan Rothford (So., Fresno, Calif.) walked. After one out Jayce Tingler (Jr., Smithville, Mo.) hit a bunt down the third-base line. Texas threw the ball away to score Tetelboin and move Rothford and Tingler to third and second base, respectively. Rothford scored on a groundout by Mick Weiss (Sr., St. Peters, Mo.) to make the margin, 6-3.
Cody Ehlers (So. Stillwater, Okla.) led the Tigers' offense with three hits, a double and a pair of singles. Bo Davis (Fr., Tulsa, Okla.) made the most of his first career start with a pair of hits. Tingler also had two hits for MU.
The third and final game of the series will be Sunday at 1 p.m.
