
Arkansas State Downs Missouri, 15-10

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri saw Arkansas State erupt for 19 hits and 15 runs as the Indians downed the Tigers, 15-10, Wednesday in non-conference action at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field. Arkansas State scored a total of 10 runs in the first four innings before added three runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth to build its 15-run total.
After allowing Arkansas State a run in the top of the first inning, MU scored a pair of runs in its half of the inning. Jayce Tingler singled before scoring on a double by Ryan Rallo. Rallo, who went to third base on a sacrifice bunt, scored on an infield ground out. Arkansas State plated two runs in the second inning, both coming in via a two-out single by Brent Buckingham.
In its half of the second inning, Missouri tied the score, 3-3, when Tingler singled to center to score Ryan Rothford.
Arkansas State scored a run after receiving four straight walks with two outs in the third inning. ASU left the bases loaded when Tingler dove to catch a sinking line drive in center field.
The Indians plated six runs by taking advantage of one walk and six hits in the frame in the fourth inning to take a 10-3 lead.
ASU's Blake Denischuk hit a three-run home run take a 13-3 lead in the seventh inning. Missouri got one run back when Felipe Tetelboin led off the seventh inning with a home run to center field to make it 13-4. The home run was Tetelboin's first career collegiate homer.
After Arkansas State's Ryan Corrigan hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning, MU scored when Rallo doubled and eventually scored on an infield out to make the score, Arkansas State 15, Missouri 5.
Missouri used four hits and two ASU errors to plate five runs in the ninth but fell short, 15-10. Jody Roughton had a two-run single in the frame.
Tingler had a career-best four hits in the contest. Laskowski had three RBI. Cody Ehlers, Rallo and Tetelboin each had two hits for the Tigers, now 7-8 overall.
Missouri faces Texas in a three-game Big 12 Conference series this weekend. Game one of the series is scheduled for Friday at 6:30 p.m.
