
Missouri Hands Arkansas State An 8-3 Loss

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri scored runs early and often in Tuesday's 8-3 win over Arkansas State in non-conference baseball action at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field.
Arkansas State scored a pair of runs with two outs in the first inning, both scoring on a single by Dusty Sexton.
Missouri plated a pair of runs in the second inning. Kurt Propst led off the frame with a walk and scored on a triple by Chris Julo. Julo scored on an infield out to tie the contest, 2-2. ASU's Lane Stafford led off the third inning by homering on the frame's first pitch to give the Indians a 3-2 lead.
The Tigers used three hits and took advantage of two ASU errors to score three runs in the bottom half of the third inning and take a 5-3 lead.
Missouri scored a run in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings to take an 8-3 lead and set up the final margin. In the seventh, Jayce Tingler reached on an infield single, stole second base, advanced to third base on a balk before scoring on a Ryan Rallo single.
The Tigers improve to 7-7 overall and complete the two-game series with Arkansas State Wednesday at 3 p.m.
