
Tetelboin Lifts Tigers To 6-4 Win

PHOENIX - The University of Missouri baseball team recorded its first win of the season Friday with a 6-4 win in 11 innings over Portland.
Felipe Tetelboin (So., Van Nuys, Calif.) hit a two-run triple to score Jody Roughton (Jr., Carthage, Mo.) and Mick Weiss (Sr., St. Peters, Mo.) in the top half of the 11th inning to break a 4-4 tie.
Roughton and Jayce Tingler (Jr., Smithville, Mo.) each had three hits for Missouri. Lee Laskowski (So., Clayton, Mo.), Kurt Propst (Sr., Jefferson City, Mo.) and Luke Cassis (Sr., Wheaton, Ill.) each had two hits. Cody Ehlers (So., Stillwater, Okla.) added a solo home run.
Garrett Broshuis (Fr., Advance, Mo.) struck out three batters in his 2.2 inning stint on the mound to record the win. Broshuis retired all eight batters he faced.
Justin James (Fr., Yukon, Okla.) scattered seven hits in seven innings while making his collegiate debut.
Missouri, now 1-1, will play Portland again Saturday before wrapping up its four-game stint in Phoenix against Washington on Sunday.
