
No. 9 Missouri Downs Michigan State 30-6

The No. 9 University of Missouri wrestlers knocked off No. 20 Michigan State by a 30-6 score on Sunday to move to 13-2 on the season. The Tigers controlled nearly every match of the night as they won eight of the ten bouts.
The dual began with the 141-pound bout where MU sophomore J.P. Reese scored an 8-4 decision over Charles Sageman. The win improved Reese to 16-8 overall on the season and 10-5 in duals.
At 149 pounds, Tiger sophomore Jeremy Spates, ranked No. 14 in the 149-pound class, defeated No. 12 ranked Karl Nadolsky of Michigan State 6-4. The win was victory number 50 for Spates as a Tiger and improved his overall season record to 18-5.
Sophomore Kenny Burleson recorded a 5-3 win over No. 6 ranked Gray Maynard in the 157-pound match. Burleson, ranked No. 17, improved to 13-8 on the year, 8-3 in dual competition.
In the 165-pound match, MU redshirt freshman Tyron Woodley picked up a takedown in overtime to defeat Anton Hall 9-7. Woodley is now 15-6 on the year.
Michigan State's first win of the night came in the 174-pound bout as Rashad Evans defeated Missouri senior John Kopnisky with a 5-4 decision.
After two scoreless periods in the 184-pound bout, MU junior Dante Stone picked up four points in the final period to take the 4-0 decision over Nathaniel Mesyn. Stone is now 14-8 on the year.
Tiger sophomore Scott Barker picked up a 3-2 decision over John Wechter of MSU in the 197-pound match. Barker improved to 17-2 and 13-2 in duals with the win.
At heavyweight, Missouri's Kevin Herron pinned Michael Keenan in the second period to improve his record to 15-10 overall this season. Herron is third on the Tigers with seven pins for the season.
In the 125-pound match, the Spartans' Chris Williams defeated Missouri junior Mark Bader 5-1 for MSU's second win of the night.
Freshman Chris McCormick was awarded the win in 133-pound match as MSU's Ryan L'Amoreaux defaulted due to injury.
Missouri is a perfect 5-0 against Big Ten opponents this season. The Tigers are now 13-2 overall and 1-2 in the Big 12 Conference.
Next up for Mizzou is an in-state battle against Central Missouri State University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the Hearnes Center.
