Mizzou Men's Golf Finish Third at Landfall Tradition

Wilmington, NC - The University of Missouri men's golf team fired a final-round team best of 285 to take third place at the Landfall Tradition Sunday in Wilmington, NC with a three-round total of 870. The third-round total was 10 strokes better than Mizzou's second round mark of 295 it shot on Saturday.

Senior Chris Happ fired a final round of 72 to finish the tournament at three under par with a three-day total of 213 finishing in third place overall. The total of 213 was Happ's best this season and the third-place finish was also a season-best.

Two other Tigers cracked the top 20 in the tournament. Junior David Jenkins was on fire in Day 1 firing a three under 69 and was consistent the rest of the way shooting rounds of 74 and 76 on Saturday and Sunday respectively to finish the tourney in a two-way tie for 13th place. Junior Brandon Knaub was the Tiger's other top-20 performer finishing in a tie for 19th (74-73-75=222).

The Tiger's other two competitors did not place far out of the top 20. After struggling mightly in day 2 with a round of 81, freshman Chris Mabry was unbelievable on the final day firing the best round of any individual competitor and also the best round of his career, carding a six-under 66 to finish in a tie for 25th. Junior Michael Radek also had a solid final day shooting an even-par 72 to finish in 30th (76-78-72=226).

Mizzou is now finished with its fall schedule and will compete next on Feb. 10-11 at the Rice Intercollegiate in Katy, Texas. For more information on Missouri men's golf, log on to www.mutigers.com.
