St. Charles, Mo. - The University of Missouri men's golf squad is in 5th place after the first two rounds of the Nestle Purina Classic which was took place on Monday at the Missouri Bluffs Golf Course. The Tigers are only 11 strokes behind tournament-leader Illinois and three strokes out of third place.

Three Tigers finished in the top 20 including their top finisher, junior Michael Radek, who is tied for tenth with a two-round total of 139 (72-67=139).

After shooting an opening round 72, which is one over par for the Bluffs, Radek shot a season-best round of 67 in round two, only five strokes behind Iowa States Drew Dalziel, who shot a 134.

Junior Brandon Knaub and senior Cory Ewert were also excellent, both shooting for a total of 142 good for 18th place and only eight strokes off of the lead. Junior David Jenkins finished the day in 35th place while freshman Chris Mabry is in 49th. Senior Chris Happ, who is playing as an individual in the tournament, had a solid opening day finishing in a tie for 15th after shooting season-best rounds of 71 and 70.
