Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri Tiger football team had a light day of practice, as the squad spent less than an hour inside the Dan Devine Pavilion following Saturday's 3 1/2 hour scrimmage. The Tigers were forced inside due to wet practice field conditions from an extensive thunderstorm that rolled through mid-Missouri this morning.
Mizzou will have two practices tomorrow, as the Tigers continue preparations for their Aug. 31 season opener vs. defending Big 10 champion Illinois.
On the injury front, LB Elgin Childress will miss 7-10 days with a mild shoulder separation he suffered during Saturday's scrimmage. Others who sat out Sunday's practice included TB Chad Giffen (mild concussion), P Todd Gohsler (hip flexor) and OS Brian Fuller (knee injury). The extent of Fuller's injury won't be known until after results from an MRI, scheduled for Monday, come back. DT Zach Ville continues to recover from last week's surgery to remove his appendix.
OS Gary Anthony and TB Mario Whitney continued to wear red jerseys, as both are recovering from mild concussions. They both practiced on Sunday, but have not been cleared for full contact.
