Palo Alto, Calif. -- Former Missouri Track & Field athlete Derrick Peterson placed third today in the men's 800-meter run at the USA Track & Field Championships at Stanford University. Peterson finished in a time of 1:48.14. David Krummenacker of Adidas won the race in 1:47.24.
Peterson's third place finish would qualify him for the Summer Olympic Games or the World Championships, but neither occurs this year.
Junior Russ Bell placed 13th in the men's discus Sunday, as the Jefferson City, Mo., native had a mark of 182-11. Nike's Adam Setliff won the event with his mark of 209-1.
