Palo Alto, Calif. -- Senior Ann Marie Brooks is still getting faster, and she proved that at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships Saturday night when she had her personal-best time of 15:50.36.
Brooks, who placed tenth in the race held at Stanford University, improved her personal record by over two seconds. Marla Runyan of Nike won the race in 15:07.19.
Junior Russ Bell faired well in the men's shot put with his mark of 62-5.25. Bell was finished higher than two of the four total collegians in the event. Adam Nelson of Nike won the shot with his throw of 72-11.
In the men's 800m former MU athlete Derrick Peterson, running for Adidas, was second in the semifinals and first in his heat with a time of 1:48.23. Junior Timothy Dunne did not qualify for finals with his time of 1:54.25 for 16th place.
Freshman Rem Moll placed fifth in the Junior National 800m. Moll finished in a personal-best time of 1:50.57.
