Palo Alto, Calif. -- The men's track & field team had a great day in the middle distance events during the first day of the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships held at Stanford University.
Junior Timothy Dunne advanced to the semifinals of the men's 800-meter run after placing 15th Friday night (1:49.62). Former MU athlete Derrick Peterson also advanced by placing seventh in a time of 1:48.91.
Freshman Rem Moll also advanced in the Junior Nationals 800m. Moll placed seventh in a time of 1:51.93.
Dunne, Moll and Peterson will race again tomorrow. The men's shot put will feature Russ Bell and Ann Marie Brooks will be in the women's 5000m tomorrow as well.
