Elin Ohlsson Selected for NCAA Central Regionals

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri junior golfer Elin Ohlsson has received a bid to compete in the NCAA Central Regional Tournament on May 9-11 at Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich. Ohlsson was among 21 teams and three individuals that were selected for the tournament.

Ohlsson led the Tigers this season with a 78.03 stroke average. Her best finish of the spring came at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational where she finished tied for eighth. She stood second after the first round of that tournament after shooting a season-best 73.

Ohlsson finished in a tie for 27th at the Big 12 Championships in Manhattan, Kan. on April 21 finishing with a three-day total of 237.

"Although we're disappointed the whole team didn't get in, we're very happy for Elin," Missouri Coach Stephanie Cooper said. "She has had a great fall and spring and has worked hard for this and is very deserving. We are looking forward to going to Michigan. I think she will do really well."

The 54-hole NCAA Central Regional Tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on May 9.
