COLUMBIA, Mo.- The Missouri swimming and diving program had great success in the classroom as well as the pool during the 2001-02 campaign. The Big 12 Conference announced that 21 members of the men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team.

Two seniors headline the team for Missouri. Women's diver Erin Wilke and men's swimmer Andy Cole, were both named Academic All-Big 12 for the third straight year. Wilke is majoring in business administration while Cole is a finance major.

Two Missouri men's swimmers, Stephen Darmitzel and Kyle Sanders, were named first team Academic All-Big 12 with perfect 4.0 GPA's. Other members of the men's Academic All-Big Team include Matt Ferrarelli, Dan Knudson, Dustin McKnight, Radu Miclaus, Dane Pedersen and Eric Sullins.

The Mizzou women had 13 athletes named Academic All-Big 12. Those athletes include Tiffany Bohon, Katy Chandler, Molly Christensen, Ellen Cross, Chrissy Frieh, Leslie Hoh, Shannon Hollsten, Andrea Nigh, Sarah Stowe, Molly Vetter and Rebecca Wolfe, along with Erin Wilke.
