March 2, 2002

Stats

Senior Ann Marie Brooks and junior Timothy Dunne are headed to Fayetteville, Ark., next weekend.

Brooks will compete in the women's 3000m run at the NCAA Championships, after winning the event at Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invitational in a time of 9:21.51.

Dunne, who placed second at Iowa State Friday, automatically qualified in the men's 800m run with his personal-best time of 1:48.23. Junior Stewart Kimball provisionally qualified in the same event, running in a career-best 1:48.62.

Dunne and Brooks join NCAA qualifiers Christian Cantwell, Russ Bell and Micah Shanks at the NCAA Indoor Championships, held March 8-9 at the University of Arkansas.

Another great note to add on the weekend was former Missouri athlete Derrick Peterson's winning performance at the USA Track & Field Indoor Championships in New York City. Peterson is the USA Track & Field 2002 indoor champion in the men's 800m, as he won Friday in 1:46.60, setting the meet record.
