MU Places Four On Academic All-Big 12 Team

DALLAS - The University of Missouri women's basketball team had four players named to the 2002 Academic All-Big 12 Conference Team, as announced by the league office.

Missouri had four of the 39 first-team honorees. A total of 48 individuals were honored by the Big 12.

Missouri's recipients are:
*Kerensa Barr, Jr., Business Administration, West Plains, Mo.
*Natalie Bright, Sr., Psychology/Sociology, West Des Moines, Iowa
*Tracy Lozier, So., Undeclared, Leawood, Kan.
*Evan Unrau, So., Undeclared, Fort Collins, Colo.

Bright is named for the fourth-straight season while Barr is named for the second consecutive year.

To be a first-team selection, one has to participate in at 60 percent of the team's scheduled contests and have at least a 3.20-or-better grade-point average. Second-team choices carry between a 3.0 and 3.19 GPA. Freshmen and transfers are ineligible in their first year of academic residence.

Missouri, 14-12 overall and 5-10 in the Big 12, plays No. 14/14 Kansas State Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Manhattan, Kan.
