COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Junior Christian Cantwell has recently been selected as the February Varsity M Student-Athlete of the Month.

The Student-Athlete of the Month award honors a Student-Athlete who has excelled in the classroom, community, and of course in competition for the given month. Sarah Reesman, Associate Director of Athletics for Student Services/ Senior Women's Administrator, Ed Stewart, Assistant Director of Athletics for Administration, and Bryan Maggard, Assistant Director of Athletics for Academic Services will review the nominations and make the final decision.

Cantwell is a three-time All-American and a three-time Big 12 Champion. Cantwell participated in the Memorial Stadium collection for the victims of the events of September 11, and he has volunteered his time towards the Boys and Girls Club and the Ronald McDonald House.

Like recipients from past months, a plaque commemorating Cantwell's achievements will adorn the Student-Athlete Lounge wall.
