Tigers Enter Final Days of Practice

Feb. 11, 2002

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri baseball team returned to Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field Monday afternoon for another day of drills and an intrasquad game.

Derek Roper (So., Elk City, Okla.) threw well in his outing. Roper, a transfer from Hutchinson Community College, picked up a win and a save during Missouri's Fall World Series.

Tony Vitello (Sr., Florissant, Mo.) also saw a short stint on the pitching mound. However, Vitello will spend his time with the Tigers as an infielder.

Missouri will practice again Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. before leaving for Arizona on Wednesday.
