Houston, Texas - The University of Missouri women's golf team stands in 11th place through two rounds of play at the Verizon Mo-Morial, which opened today at Pine Forest Country Club in Houston, Texas. The Tigers shot team rounds of 314 and 327 today for a total of 641. That puts MU 38 strokes back of leader Indiana (1st - 603), but just eight shots back of 7th-place Baylor (633). Missouri is the two-time defending team champion at the event, which wraps up with one round on Tuesday.
Senior Amelia Moses leads all Missouri competitors through two rounds, with a score of 151. She shot rounds of 76 and 75 for her score, which is just six shots off leader Allison Johnson of Oklahoma (1st - 145).
Fellow senior Jamie Tucker finds herself tied for 21st place entering tomorrow's final round, with a two-round total of 156. Tucker was near the top of the leaderboard after an opening-round 75, but fell back with an 81 in the afternoon round.
Junior Nisha Sadekar is in 64th place individually with a total of 165. She shot rounds of 84 and 81 on the day. Freshman Tara Jacobsen is tied for 76th place with a score of 169 through two rounds, after scores of 79 and 90 on Monday. Missouri had just four competitors in the lineup -- one less than the customary five - meaning Head Coach Tom Loyd didn't have the luxury of throwing out the high score.
