Women's Golf Finishes 3rd at San Antonio Shootout

San Antonio, Texas - The University of Missouri women's golf team finished in third place at the Baylor/Iowa San Antonio Shootout, which wrapped up with 18 holes today at Pecan Valley Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas.
The Tigers shot a team round of 315 Tuesday, and slipped one spot to third, after an opening round of 304 had them in second place Monday. Mizzou's two-round score of 619 left them 11 shots back of team champion Indiana, which shot rounds of 308 and 300 for a winning total of 608.
Individually, Missouri was led by senior Amelia Moses, who tied for 4th place overall with a two-round total of 152. Moses shot a three-over par 75 Tuesday, a two-stroke improvement from Monday's round of 77. Moses has now finished in the top-20 in all nine tournaments during the 2000-01 season, and the top-five finish marked her fifth of the year.
Sophomore Elin Ohlsson earned her first top-10 finish of the spring season, and second of the season, as she tied for 10th overall, with a two-round score of 154. Ohlsson shot rounds of 75 and 79 for her total.
Junior Nisha Sadekar finished in 18th place individually, after shooting a two-round total of 157. She shot a 75 Monday, but slipped to a ten-over par 82 on Tuesday, but still managed to notch her second top-20 finish of the spring, and third of the season. Senior Jamie Tucker (T-24th - 160) and freshman Tara Jacobsen (T-40th - 163) rounded out the Tiger lineup.
Missouri's next competition will be at the Indiana Invitational, to be held April 7-8 at Bloomington, Ind.
