Men's Golf Announces Addition of Chris Mabry to Squad

Dec. 5, 2001

Columbia, Mo. - Chris Mabry of Leawood, Kan. has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Missouri, as announced by men's golf coach Tim Robyn.

The Bishop Miege High School senior is the second prep standout to sign on the dotted line for the Tigers during the early signing period, which ended Nov. 21.

Mabry is the reigning Kansas class 5A state champion as well as the two-time defending class 5A regional champion. His scoring average of 73 as a junior helped him to capture honors as the Eastern Kansas League Player of the Year.

In addition to winning the Kansas Junior Golf Association's Sectional Championship, Mabry was a finalist at the KJGA Match Play Championship in 2001.

"Chris has performed well in various national tournaments and has won numerous times at the state and local level," said Robyn. "He possesses an excellent short game and has great potential. We expect him to be a strong player for us in the years ahead."
